Vitoux Seminars
The Vitoux Program on Clinical Research for Equitable Health hosts a monthly research seminar series, entitled “Nuts and Bolts in Clinical Research—Funding, Operations, and Discoveries.” We invite clinical research scientists, clinicians, and administrators at UIC and other institutions to share their success stories and lessons learned in their field of study. Speakers are encouraged to incorporate one or more of the following topics into their presentations:
- How I got my clinical research study funded? (e.g., funding agency, funding mechanism, grant writing process and tips)
- What factors made my grant proposal successful? (e.g., major strengths identified by reviewers)
- What is my clinical research study about? (e.g., scope, specific aims, and methods)
- How is my clinical research operated? What are the challenges and opportunities? (e.g., setting, population, data collection and management, safety monitoring)
- What are the findings and implications from my clinical research study? (e.g., results and “so what?” regarding practice and policy implications and future research)
