Further background and understanding of common problems will be gained, along with insight into rationale and evaluation of radiographic and laboratory tests used to establish a definitive diagnosis. Skills in treatment will be developed, including application of casts and splints and traction and basic surgical skills.

INSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES:
The major emphasis is on the evaluation, acute treatment and rehabilitation of the patient with musculoskeletal disorders and trauma. Management repair of lacerations, reduction and treatment of fractures receive major emphasis. The student will participate as a member of the team on all cases. General exposure will be given to orthopaedic aspects of common orthopaedic conditions.
