COMIR (College of Medicine Informational Resources) provides top-tier technology solutions and support to our administration, students, staff, and faculty within the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. We offer helpdesk, desktop support, manage instructional technology, servers, software, application development, and security services for College of Medicine students, staff, and faculty. COMIR represents College of Medicine IT interests at the University and University System levels. We also extend our support to other College of Medicine Departments via a Shared Support model,

Our Information and Technology unit, located within the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago, is integral to the university's academic operations and mission. Our comprehensive IT support includes file server management, desktop assistance, connectivity solutions, security, software support, instructional technology, and portable device assistance, ensuring seamless digital infrastructure for uninterrupted academic activities. We are committed to providing readily available shared IT support to all units associated with the College of Medicine. Our dedication to reliable and comprehensive IT support plays a vital role in the success of the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

The COMIR Helpdesk provides support for student services and the Edelstone computer lab.

Located in B26B CMWT, the COMIR Helpdesk is available from 9am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, and offers the following services:

  • Assistance with setting up and troubleshooting UIC applications (Email, Box, Zoom, Slack, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting laptop issues (Wifi, VPN, Printing)
  • Addressing reported issues with student lab computers and printers.

The Edelstone computer lab offers two iMacs and four Dell workstations for student use, as well as space for using personal devices. A printer is also available in the lab, with an additional printer located on the 3rd floor of the Learning Center (behind the TVs). Click here to learn more about printing with WEPA
