Mission
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is committed to excellence in the diagnosis, management, and study of endocrine and metabolic disorders. The latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques are used in the clinical evaluation and management of patients.
Research
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is committed to advancing knowledge in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and translating advances in research into clinical practice. Faculty members are involved in various areas of clinical and basic research. Protocols range from broad-based multicenter clinical outcome studies to the effect of hormonal manipulations on gene expression.

Patient Care
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is staffed by board-certified endocrinologists, each with a specific subspecialty interest, and 10 adjunct faculty members, providing clinical teaching from a variety of perspectives. Division faculty members are involved in more than 10,000 outpatient visits per year and provide consultation for several hundred inpatients with acute and chronic endocrine/metabolic disorders.

“The Sweet Ride”
UIC’s Division of Endocrinology and the UI Health Diabetes Center will be hosting fundraisers on an annual basis. All proceeds will go directly to our mission to transform diabetes care and research in Chicago. Our last fundraiser, ‘The Sweet Ride’, was held on Saturday, October 1st, 2022.
