In partnership with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR), the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences invites you to an enlightening journey into interdisciplinary advanced eye care research and innovative solutions. This groundbreaking symposium will explore the latest advances in the molecular and cellular basis of ocular inflammation, immunology, and infectious diseases affecting vision and healthy living, new targets for intervention, and fresh insights. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore novel solutions, learn from established and emerging experts in interdisciplinary fields, and discuss emerging infections, new ocular health issues, and their impact on ocular health for the first time. Experts will share results demonstrating the use of innovative and cutting-edge techniques in vision research. There will be ample opportunities for onsite intellectual discussions and networking.

We are excited to announce that research poster session opportunities are available for trainees at the symposium. All submitted abstracts will be considered for poster presentations, and twenty abstracts will be selected for short talks during the session. This is an exclusive chance for twenty emerging professionals in the field—including undergraduate, medical, and PhD students, postdocs, and junior faculty—to showcase their work and engage with leaders from both academic and industry sectors. For the fullest consideration, we encourage all interested individuals to register for the event and submit their IOVS-style abstract to Dr. C. D. Patil (cdpatil@uic.edu) via email by September 5th, 2024. Individuals registering after that deadline may not be considered for presentation. This event promises to provide a valuable platform for networking, learning, and advancing your career in the field.
