How to Apply to Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship

Admission to the UIC Gastroenterology Fellowship Program is open to all physicians who are board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine. Additionally, applicants should be licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as physicians by the State of Illinois.
The UIC Gastroenterology Fellowship Program sponsors the J1 visa. All other applicants must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
Gastroenterology fellowship applications should be submitted via the ERAS system.

- Application deadline: July 31
(2024 fellowship applications would need to be submitted by July 31, 2023). - Interviewing period: Mid-September to October.
- Matching: November-December through the NRMP fellowship match program.

When submitting an application through ERAS, please be sure to include the following documents in addition to the ERAS common application:
- Current CV
- Minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation
- Medical School Transcript
- United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Score Transcript
- Personal Statement
