The Department of Emergency Medicine is proud to announce the establishment of the Health Disparities Scholarship, aimed at senior medical students considering a career in Emergency Medicine (EM). This scholarship program will offer exposure to an academic EM training program at an institution committed to health disparities mitigation and research. Participants will engage in hands-on experiences and gain valuable insights into various EM sub-specialty areas actively pursued at UIC, including:
- Health disparities research
- Toxicology
- Ultrasound (US)
- Global and Social Emergency Medicine
- Education and Simulation (SIM)
- Resuscitation
- Health Policy and Administration

4-Week Program: $1500
*Scholarship Funds will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the elective.
Examples of covered expenses include:
- airfare/travel to/from home location to UIC
- housing cost
