RESEARCH OVERVIEW
Our research seeks ways to use the emergency department innovatively; as such, we concentrate on identifying and addressing health inequities in our community. Our research interests are diverse and represent relevant issues, from policy scholarship to clinical patient investigation to population screening, education, and disease awareness. We collaborate within the College of Medicine and partner with other schools on campus, including the School of Public Health, the College of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy, the Jane Adams College of Social Work, and other outside agencies, to improve overall population health. Our researchers are currently focused on addressing homelessness, cardiovascular disease, and the application of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), diabetes, hypertension, sickle cell disease, and COVID.
