About
Dr. Samuel Wainwright is a general internist and pediatrician, health services researcher, and Associate Division Chief for Quality Improvement in the Division of Academic Internal Medicine. Dr. Wainwright sees adults and children in outpatient clinics, and cares for adults in the hospital setting. He focuses on generation-spanning care that supports patients across life’s transitions (teen-to-adult, adult-to-parent, hospital-to-home). His research focuses on examining the value of longitudinal care across generations and life-transitions (pediatric-to-adult, parent-to-child). He is particularly focused on building support for new dads as they seek the best possible health for themselves and their families. He completed the Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital combined residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics, where he also served as the Chief Resident for the MGH med-peds program for 2020-2021. He subsequently returned to UIC to complete the CLASS Fellowship in Health Services Research from 2021-2023. He is proud graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine.
