What I Love About UIC: I loved UIC's genuine commitment to primary care and building knowledgeable and compassionate PCPs. I wanted to nurture those longitudinal relationships in the outpatient setting while also being part of a huge academic institution for inpatient training. Also interested in the LEAD Track, which would help me gain valuable advocacy tools as a clinician within the communities of the Windy City! Chicago reminds me of New York in terms of its broad socioeconomic diversity, and it felt important to learn how to be open and humble to all identifiers as a clinician. Also, UIC MedPeds folk seemed so cool! A great combination of wanting to be empathetic clinicians, community members, and humans. Feel grateful to train alongside some well-rounded, compassionate human beans!
