About

Dr. Lewis Hsu has research interests in sickle cell disease, minority health disparities, health education, implementation science, health services, community engagement, community health workers, newborn screening for hemoglobinopathies, global health, pediatric hematology, science communication. Dr. Hsu has clinical expertise in Sickle cell disease which includes Red blood cell disorders, Thalassemia, Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency, Hereditary Spherocytosis, Sickle cell trait, Pediatric hematology, Minority health disparities, Interprofessional education and Health education. Dr. Hsu is a member of American Society of Hematology, American Academy of Pediatrics and American Society of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. Dr. Hsu is also a Chief Medical Officer (volunteer) for Sickle Cell Disease Association of America 2020 – 2024. Dr. Hsu speaks basic Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
