About

Dr. Hua Geng's research interests center around the multifaceted aspects of gut biology, with a primary focus on understanding inflammation, tissue wound healing, intestinal stem cell dynamics, and tumorigenesis. In particular, Dr. Geng's work delves into the intricate pathogenesis of intestinal injury and explores the molecular mechanisms governing the regenerative processes in gut mucosa. To achieve this, Dr. Geng's work involves the utilization of various mouse models designed to mimic disease pathogenesis, including DSS-colitis, sepsis-induced gut injury, AOM-DSS colorectal cancer, and genetically modified mouse models. These models serve as valuable tools to unravel the complexities of intestinal responses to different challenges, providing insights that contribute to advancements in therapeutic approaches for intestinal disorders. Ultimately, Dr. Geng's goal is to contribute to the broader understanding of intestinal health, from the cellular and molecular levels to the holistic dynamics of tissue regeneration and disease progression.
