Rotation Projects
– Characterizing mechanism of binding and action of the hybrid ribosome-targeting antibiotics: characterization of resistant mutants, in vitro translation, binding studies.
– Exploring mechanisms of action of translation factors in bacteria: constructing tagged translation factors for genome-wide ribosome profiling analysis: gene cloning, protein characterization, ribosome profiling
– Unraveling the mechanism of action of antibacterial trans-translation inhibitor: designing the assays for testing the activity of a putative inhibitor of the ribosome rescue system in bacteria: cloning, expressing and testing activity of the ABC-F macrolide resistance protein.
– Generating the tunable library for the selection of the antibacterial peptides with improved activity.
