Plastic Surgery Residency

Our mission is to provide our residents with extensive clinical and theoretical knowledge to allow them to successfully compete in today’s demanding markets. The training program is fully accredited and based at the University of Illinois Hospital and Mt. Sinai Medical Center. During their 3 years of training, residents are given the opportunity to actively participate in the care of our patients and obtain a broad theoretical, clinical and operative experience in all aspects of adult and pediatric Plastic surgery, including cleft lip/palate, craniofacial surgery, breast surgery, hand, microsurgery, burns, cosmetic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, general reconstruction, microsurgery, body contouring and wound care. There is an extensive teaching curriculum covering the entire scope of Plastic surgery, and all residents are given the opportunity for clinical and laboratory research.
Applicants must have a strong medical and surgical background, completion of a required surgical training and should demonstrate a high performance in their basic training. Credentials such as other degrees, fellowships or research experience are also taken into consideration, for selection of residents.
Applications are only accepted through the San Francisco Match and after completion of the prerequisite training in a General Surgery accredited training program. :
