ASOPRS Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship

The UIC Fellowship in Oculoplastics is approved by The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS)

The goal of the fellowship is to provide a comprehensive, high volume, and diverse 24 months of training in the field of oculofacial plastic surgery. In addition to a busy surgical and clinical schedule, the fellow will spend time in the department of dermatology, review slides with an ophthalmic pathologist, evaluate imaging with a designated radiologist, and operate with various subspecialists (facial plastic surgery, neurosurgery, and craniofacial surgery).

Research is an integral part of the fellowship. The fellow is highly encouraged to complete their ASOPRS thesis prior to graduation. Furthermore, the fellow will be expected to present their work at national and/or international meetings. Upon graduation, the fellow should have a solid foundation of oculoplastics and be able to create the type of career they desire.
