Research Fellowship in Cornea and Keratoprosthesis

The Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, UIC Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, offers a 1-2 year corneal research fellowship. The fellow’s primary responsibility is to perform clinical and laboratory research in the Keratoprosthesis Service.  Fellows will have the opportunity to lead a research project, and will be expected to present their results in research meetings and author publications. Strong mentorship will be provided throughout the development of the research. Fellows will also be provided with clinical/surgical observorship opportunities in the cornea service, with primary focus on Keratoprosthesis.

This is an unpaid fellowship.  Applicants for this unpaid research fellowship are often funded by outside granting agencies or by their home countries. Those fellows who are funded by their universities and who have positions to return to at home receive preference for these positions. Fellows are required to obtain independent funding or have personal funds to support their fellowship.
