Repeating Core Curriculum – modeled after the ABR syllabus Grand Rounds given by residents in a topic of their choice
4th-year Mini-Fellowships
Clinical physics taught by MDs
Basic physics taught by on-site physicists and attendance at national physics review course

The only call, non-shift work responsibilities are for IR residents who are on the IR service
Buddy shift system with on-site senior beginning in October allowing first years to participate in ED shifts. The shifts run from 5-8 pm on weekdays, averaging 1-2 shifts a month; as well as, weekend shift from 8am-8pm completing 1 weekend a month from March-June.
Night float system
One resident covers nights at UIH.
Overnight shift varies depending on level of training. Night float is taken a week at a time, with the shift running from 8pm-8am. The current breakdown for the night float schedule includes:
- 6 weeks of night float R2 year
- 3-4 weeks of night float R3 year
- 3-4 weeks of night float R4 year
Weekend shift: our weekend shift runs from 8am-8pm and also varies depending on level of training.
- 6 weekends R2 year
- 3-4 weekends R3 year
- 3-4 weekends R4 year
No overnight Attendings at UIH
- Attendings available for consultation via phone at UIH.
