The Division of Interventional Radiology consists of 6 full-time IR faculty who are committed to excellence in patient care, medical student and resident education, and clinical/translational IR research.

How to Apply Heading link
The UI COM Interventional Radiology Residency program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Applications are only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
- Completed applications and supporting documents (personal statement, curriculum vitae, transcript from medical school, three letters of recommendation, Dean’s letter, and a photograph) should be submitted via ERAS.
- USMLE Step 1 is required.
- We do not require USMLE Step 2 scores but do consider these scores if available.

- AIRP during 3rd year with stipend provided by the department
- Monetary allowance and time for presentation at a conference
- 1-3 days off for RSNA depending on PGY Level
- 3rd years are placed on less demanding rotations during the six months prior to their Board exam
- In addition, time-off for both Physics and Boards reviews (e.g. Huda and Duke Reviews)
- Vacations are scheduled individually and include:

To provide excellence in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology training in order to develop the next generation of physicians by creating a culture of patient advocacy, education and scholarship, and physician leadership which allows our trainees the opportunity to excel within, and advance the field of Interventional Radiology at community, regional, and national levels.
