Dr. Mocan is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist dedicated exclusively to the medical and surgical care of infants, children, and adolescents with eye diseases. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, he treats a diverse spectrum of surgical and non-surgical eye conditions.
His primary clinical interests include pediatric cataracts, congenital glaucoma, and strabismus. Through a practice devoted entirely to pediatric ophthalmology, he is committed to providing compassionate, individualized, and state-of-the-art care for children with both common and challenging eye problems.
Dr. Mocan is actively involved in clinical research focused on anterior segment disorders, amblyopia and strabismus. He collaborates with ophthalmologists and researchers across the United States and internationally and serves as a co-investigator on ongoing multicenter clinical studies. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and his research has been cited in over 1,200 scientific publications.
He is board certified by both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the European Board of Ophthalmology. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology (AAPOS) and Strabismus, and the European Glaucoma Society (EGS).
