Dr. Novak is the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases. He has decades of experience in clinical trials including HIV vaccine trials, HIV therapeutic trials and COVID-19 vaccine studies. Dr. Novak has been actively involved in HIV clinical care and research for over 30 years and serves as the Director of the UIC Community Clinic Network (UCCN), which he began in 1991. The UCCN clinic network is a community-based clinic model that serves communities throughout the city of Chicago.
