About

Dr. Lipowska is an assistant professor at the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, University of Illinois at Chicago. Her clinical interests include treating patients with esophageal diseases such as achalasia, Barrett’s esophagus, eosinophilic esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and esophageal motility disorders. She performs upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and interprets esophageal motility and pH studies. Her research interests are centered around esophageal disorders and endoscopic ergonomics. She is also passionate about medical education and is involved in educational curriculum development.

Dr. Lipowska graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Violin performance as well as a degree in Sociology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She subsequently earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She completed internal medicine residency training at Northwestern University in Chicago and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Chicago. Dr. Lipowska is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus.
