About

Biographical Info:
Dr. Vania Leung is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Medicine within the Division of Academic Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. She is also currently the Program Director of the Geriatrics Fellowship. Her research focuses on interprofessional education, transitions of care, and delirium. She has helped with the development of the interprofessional Memory and Aging Clinic at UI Health. She has mentored trainees of various levels including undergraduate students, medical students, medical residents, and fellows.

She was recently awarded the Human Resources Services Administration (HRSA) Geriatrics Academic Career Award (GACA) to create an interprofessional geriatrics curriculum in and around UIC's various professional schools and affiliated sites. Her goal is to improve care for older adults by creating age-friendly settings for our older adults residing in underserved areas of Chicago. She was also selected to be one of the 2024-2025 Tideswell Emerging Leader in Aging Scholar.
