Research :
Dr. Jarrett's clinical expertise is in HIV and sexually transmitted infections as well as general infectious diseases. Her research expertise is in translational and clinical research with a special interest in the epidemiology of HIV and sexually transmitted infections in sub-Saharan African women. Research highlights include:
1) primary investigator of Multicenter AIDS Cohort and Women’s Interagency HIV Combined Study (MWCCS) sub-study investigating vaginal microbiome changes across the reproductive life cycle in women with varying HIV control, (2024-2025)
2) CDC medical officer and lead technical support for medical management and data collection of adverse events reported in the CDC-sponsored Sierra Leone Trial to Introduce a Vaccine against Ebola (STRIVE), (2015-2016)
3) primary investigator of NIH-funded study of the relationship between the vaginal microbiota and Trichomonas vaginalis acquisition in sex workers in Mombasa, Kenya, (2012-2015)
