About

Hometown: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Interests: I'm from Dhaka, Bangladesh, a megacity with over 10 million people. Following medical school, I interned at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and trained in internal medicine at major teaching hospitals, including Evercare Hospital, the only JCI-accredited hospital in Bangladesh then. During my addiction medicine fellowship at ETSU, I noticed that patients seeking treatment for substance use disorders were often less motivated to receive care for co-occurring conditions like HIV and hepatitis C from Infectious Disease specialists. This prompted me to pursue a fellowship in Infectious Diseases. With a background in addiction medicine and internal medicine, I aim to develop a healthcare model that integrates comprehensive treatment for both substance use disorders and infectious diseases. I also have a particular interest in Mycobacterial infections and immunocompromised hosts. Beyond medicine, I enjoy nature walks, exploring new places, and spending time with my family and friends.
