About

Ms. Chin is in her second year of medical school. She received a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences with a minor in nutrition. Her mentor is Jun Ma, M.D., Ph.D., FAHA, FABMR, FSBM, and her research project, the “RAINBOW Trial Post Hoc Diet Quality Analysis Manuscript,” found the following conclusions: calorie intake and weight decreased, but overall diet quality did not improve; diet quality deteriorated particularly in females; and there is a need for explicit focus on diet quality and behavior change techniques tailored for females and males.

Upon completing her fellowship, Ms. Chin presented her research at the November 2023 UIC College of Medicine Research Day, and at the 2024 AHA Epi Lifestyle Scientific Session.
