Illinois Heart Rescue Participates at Arab Resuscitation Council Conference
Illinois Heart Rescue (ILHR), the initiative dedicated to improving cardiac arrest survival rates pioneered by UIC Emergency Medicine, earned international recognition at the 2nd Arab Resuscitation Council Scientific Conference, held from November 22-24, 2024, in Dubai, UAE. Beth Frolich, EMT-P, representing ILHR, took first place for her oral presentation, highlighting ILHR’s life-saving work and innovative approach. Illinois Heart Rescue’s mission revolves around equipping communities with the tools and knowledge to recognize and respond to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Through hands-only CPR training, AED accessibility advocacy, and data-driven quality improvement, the initiative has become a model for community-based cardiac care.
We are immensely proud of Beth and the entire IHLR team; their work reflects the core of what the Department of Emergency Medicine strives for, driving innovation that saves lives.
