The Department of Emergency Medicine has established the Health Disparities Scholarship for senior medical students considering a career in Emergency Medicine (EM). This scholarship program offers exposure to an academic EM training program at an institution dedicated to mitigating health disparities through research and practice. Participants will engage in hands-on experiences and gain valuable insights into various EM sub-specialty areas actively pursued at UIC, including:
- Health disparities research
- Toxicology
- Ultrasound (US)
- Social Emergency Medicine
- Education and Simulation (SIM)
- Resuscitation
- Health Policy and Administration

4-Week Program: $1500
*Scholarship Funds will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the elective.
Examples of covered expenses include:
- airfare/travel to/from home location to UIC
- housing cost
