Welcome to Obstetrics and Gynecology

Welcome to the UIC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Our department began its academic mission of training excellent women’s health physicians over 100 years ago. Since then, our department has produced numerous academic specialists in obstetrics and gynecology, high-risk pregnancy conditions, gynecologic cancers, urogynecology, and family planning. UIC physicians and researchers made and continue to make new discoveries, seek health equity, and shape women’s health and physician training around the world.

The Department of OBGYN at UIC plays a central role in advancing women’s health for underserved Chicago populations. Beyond excellence in patient care, the department exemplifies the highest standards of medical training in Maternal-Fetal-Medicine, Family Planning, and Global Health. Through laboratory and translational research as well as clinical trials, our scientists are making discoveries which impact health care around the nation and world. Our dedication to breakthrough discovery, advanced training, excellence in patient care, and Global Health initiatives gives our OBGYN team its outstanding reputation.

I am confident and proud of our diverse, talented, and engaged women’s health professionals who work tirelessly every day to make our patients’ lives happier and healthier.

Best regards,
