Doctors
What a strange breed when you think about it.
To care for the sick
With all their smells, lesions, and excretions
Sacrificing sleep
Sacrificing time with family and friends
To care for total strangers
Why?
Money, prestige, challenge, knowlege, tradition
Altruism
No one realizes
The difficulty, the sacrifice, the hard work
Not one of us does when we start this journey
Yet, once we start, we do not stop
It’s a sign of weakness
Weak we are not
Crazy, idealistic, materialistic, altruistic
Maybe
But not weak
What a strange breed.
