
Dr. Jessica George grew up in Lincolnshire, Illinois, and attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After her undergraduate studies, Dr. George joined Teach for America and taught high school biology in Louisiana. After Teach for America, Dr. George attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for her medical education. During medical school, Dr. George was a part of the Urban Medicine Program, a program that includes medical students with a demonstrated interest and commitment to serving urban communities. After medical school, Dr. George stayed at UIC for her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. George will continue in the Global Women’s Health Fellowship while completing her Master’s in Public Health. Her research focuses on contraceptive access and attitudes, abortion and legal care in low- and middle-income countries, and medical education.
