The University of Illinois Physician Group (UIPG) is a multidisciplinary collective.

UIPG physicians are members of the medical school’s faculty and have appointments with the University of Illinois Hospital. The UIPG group comprises over 500 physicians representing over 50 specialties and subspecialties, and the 495-bed University of Illinois Hospital and the UI Health outpatient diagnostic and specialty clinics at the Outpatient Care Center (OCC) serve as the primary teaching facilities for the UI College of Medicine.

Our primary focus is to deliver exceptional healthcare.

UIPG aims to improve community health, particularly in Chicago’s underserved and under-resourced communities. We also teach, conduct research and contribute to medical education and the overall mission of UI Health. Our collaborative model allows for translating medical knowledge into advancements in patient care.

The benefits of being seen by a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Physicians who join together to improve patient care share resources and advocate for the interests of their members. We take a holistic approach to care, can coordinate treatment and continuity of care, and more easily facilitate second opinions. Patients who receive care from UIPG physicians benefit from the latest medical advancements and have access to specialized expertise.
