Established in 1987, the Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute was one of the first standardized patient-based clinical performance assessment centers in the world.
Over the years, we have facilitated technology-based and human-based simulation experiences for thousands of healthcare students and professionals. SAIL envisions a future where patient-partnered simulation strategies empower the entire healthcare community, encompassing patients, families, and diverse stakeholders. We aspire to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters comprehensive healthcare professionals, aligning with the UI College of Medicine's mission to elevate community health. Our goal is to pioneer simulations that not only prioritize patient safety but also embrace the richness of human experiences, ensuring healthcare providers are equipped with empathy, expertise, and a commitment to delivering equitable care globally.
