Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, I saw firsthand the consequences of unmanaged chronic disease and the importance of access to quality primary care. I was drawn to Family Medicine because of the broad scope of practice and the meaningful, long-term relationships that can be developed with patients while caring for them over their lifetime. I fell in love with the Family Medicine program at UIC, specifically, based on it’s reputation for providing rigorous full-spectrum training and it’s dedicated commitment to social justice and caring for the underserved. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the movies, candle making, deck gardening and training my new puppy, Aspen!
