The Gabriel Plaa education award of the Society of Toxicology Mechanisms Specialty Section recognizes outstanding postdoctoral fellows that make significant contributions in the field of mechanistic toxicology. Elvis was selected as a finalist in this award for his work on the effects of bisphenol S, an emerging bisphenol, on placental cell fusion. Elvis’ had to conduct part of the interview process via Zoom since the Society of Toxicology 59th Annual Meeting in Anaheim was cancelled to flatten the COVID-19 curve.
