Nikki earned her MPH from UIC’s School of Public Health, Community Health Sciences division and is a former trainee of UIC’s Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health. Nikki previously worked for CountyCare’s Clinical Services Department, overseeing various health equity initiatives including addressing homelessness in Cook County, improving child and adult behavioral health programming, and oversight of case management programming. Nikki’s major interests include trauma-informed systems development, addressing barriers to accessing mental health services, and holistic wellness interventions that promote healing and resiliency. She roots her work in social justice, leveraging community assets, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Nikki is a trained yoga teacher and previously taught classes through Pilsen Community Yoga, and volunteered on the Evaluation Team for YogaCare, a Chicago-based non-profit that brings yoga to under-resourced communities.
