Dr. Stephen Locher is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Prior to joining UIC, Dr. Locher had an appointment as Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Rush Medical College, and Chairman & Medical Director of Advocate Medical Group Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He served as the Residency Program Director for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department from 1996 to 2002. He serves as the Chair of the Illinois Perinatal Statewide Quality Council (SQC), Illinois Department of Public Health since 2016 and has been its member since 2003. In addition, he is also Chair of the Severe Maternal Morbidity Review Committee (SMMRC), and member of the Illinois Perinatal Advisory Committee (PAC) for the Illinois Department of Public Health. Dr. Locher served on several initiatives and committees for the IDPH, the Chicago Department of Public Health, and the Chicago Medical Society, including as President and President Elect of the Chicago Medical Society. He has received awards for excellence in Residency Education and clinical care.
