Dr. Meredith Pavicic has been appointed Interim Division Director of the Division of Academic Specialists in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
Meredith completed her medical school education at the University of Kansas School of Medicine Kansas City, KS. Following completion of her residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), Meredith was recruited as faculty within the Department of OBGYN at UIC, Academic Specialist Division where she currently resides.
Dr. Meredith Pavicic exhibited strong leadership from the very beginning of her academic career. At Dartmouth, Dr. Meredith Pavicic served as administrative chief resident and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) Junior Fellow Chair for District I, NH. In addition, Dr. Meredith Pavicic was a key figure during the implementation of an evidence-based intimate partner violence screening program at DHMC.
Since joining UIC, Dr. Meredith Pavicic has continuously shown confidence, charisma, assertiveness, and intelligence. Under her direct leadership and supervision, the Obstetrical Emergency Room and the Documentation Improvement Committee have significantly improved their performance. Today, as a direct result of Dr. Meredith Pavicic’s involvement, the clinical activities of the Division of Academic Specialists are significantly streamlined with respect to our organization. Dr. Meredith Pavicic played a key role in improvements in the scheduling process in the Academic Specialists Division as well as the department-wide implementation of QGenda.
At an institutional level, Dr. Meredith Pavicic’s talent did not go unnoticed. Currently, Dr. Meredith Pavicic plays a significant role within the UI Health Organization as a member of the Clinical Informatics Group, Generative AI in Healthcare Workgroup, Surgical Informatics, and Perioperative Services Quality Committees.In addition to all the aforementioned achievements, the qualities that set Dr. Meredith Pavicic apart most of all are her smartness, compassion, kindness, collaborative spirit, and positive attitude.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Steven Locher who effective immediately assumed the role of Associate Head for Faculty Affairs. Since Steve’s recruitment in 2020, the Division of Academic Specialists has continuously thrived. He is and will continue to be an inspiring executive senior force for our Department.
