Welcome Dr. Vatsla Dadhwal to the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Vatsla Dadhwal has joined the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Dadhwal earned her medical degree from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India, where she also completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She then joined the faculty at AIIMS, progressing from Assistant Professor to full Professor. Driven by her passion for women's health and dedication to academic medicine, Dr. Dadhwal was appointed as the MFM Unit Head and MFM Fellowship Program Director at AIIMS, a position she held until her recent relocation to the University of Illinois Chicago.
Her expertise spans patient care, teaching, clinical research, and professional development. Following training at renowned fetal therapy units at King's College London and Hamburg University, Germany, Dr. Dadhwal established the MFM fellowship training program at AIIMS. As the program director, she trained numerous residents and fellows in performing complex fetal therapy interventions. Her exceptional contributions to the field earned her several prestigious awards and leadership roles, including Vice President of the Delhi Chapter of the Society of Fetal Medicine and Honorary Secretary for the Association of Gynecologists of Delhi.
Dr. Dadhwal has also served as a National Board Examiner for MFM fellowship certification in India and has provided expert guidance through her participation in various World Health Organization committees. These committees have focused on developing protocols for emergency contraception in India and managing COVID-19 infections in Southeast Asia.
With over 165 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Dadhwal has demonstrated broad expertise in reproductive medicine and women's health. She has presented numerous abstracts at national and international conferences, further contributing to her field of research.
