University of Illinois System President Timothy Killeen Visits 55th and Pulaski Health Collaborative
University of Illinois System President Timothy Killeen recently visited the 55th and Pulaski Health Collaborative on his annual tour of the state. The Health Collaborative is a vital resource for Chicago's Gage Park neighborhood, having served over 35,000 patients in the three short years it has been in service.
Speaking on the visit, Dr. Heather Prendergast offered the following insight about President Killeen's tour:
"Our work here at 55th and Pulaski Health Collaborative is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with a shared vision of health equity and community wellness. This collaborative is not just a facility; it is an outstanding model of integrated, patient-centered care that is transforming healthcare for a historically under-resourced community. Since opening our doors in February 2022, we have provided care over 35,000 patient care visits of which 15,000 have been exclusive specialty care and nearly 7500 advanced diagnostic studies. Having President Killeen include 55th and Pulaski Health Collaborative as part of his state tour was a true honor and reaffirms the University’s commitment to supporting innovations in healthcare that bridges gaps and builds stronger, healthier communities."
President Killeen will continue his tour of the state later this month, focusing on downstate Illinois.
