On March 13, UIC hosted The Menopause Imperative: Advancing Care, Research, and Policy, a dynamic event convening international, national, and local leaders across sectors to highlight the urgent need for menopause awareness, research, and quality care.

The program featured remarks from Halle Berry—who shared her personal journey through menopause and advocated for greater attention to this important phase of women’s health—as well as from University of Illinois Chicago Chancellor Marie Lynn Miranda and Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton. Dr. Pauline Maki led three solution-driven, expert panel discussions on Workforce Initiatives and Economic Impact, Access to Care, and Investment in Research to chart a path forward in transforming menopause care for all women.
