The University of Illinois Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation and UI Health has started a support group for individuals living with a diagnosis of seizures and epilepsy. The group discussions include patients, caregivers, and care team members. Living an independent, productive and active life with epilepsy free of stigma and misconceptions surrounding epilepsy can pose many challenges. The open discussion, which is facilitated by Teresa Pace, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, extends support and offers resources to patients and their caregivers via a video-conferencing platform every month. This and other important services are supported by a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services. To join this support group contact Teresa at epilepsysupport@uic.edu.
