I was born in Urbana-Champaign but I moved to Korea with my family when I was six years old and spent most of my childhood there. When I was sixteen, I decided to move back to the States for education, and I ended up in Texas where I completed high school, college, and medical school. I had a great experience during my Family Medicine rotation as a third-year medical student where I learned from great attendings and residents through their practices of how amazing the specialty truly is. The strong patient-physician relationship as well as the continuity of care is what ultimately convinced me to choose Family Medicine.
I moved to Chicago last year for residency and I completed my intern year at another program in North Chicago. Unfortunately, my former program ended up closing but gratefully I was able to transfer here at UIC. My current clinical interests are inpatient medicine, global health, and underserved medicine. When I’m not working, I enjoy watching sports and playing all sorts of games, video games, computer games, board games, and mobile games (catching Pokémons!). But most of all, I love to travel, and planning out vacations is sometimes what gets me through the tough times in residency.
