I grew up in Chicago in a very social-justice oriented community. I first became interested in medicine after seeing an exhibit set up by Doctors without Borders. Initially thinking I wanted to work globally, after working at various non-profits in the Chicago area, urban medicine began to attract me. After studying Latin American studies in undergrad and having the opportunity to travel, I started my medical education at Midwestern University in the western suburbs. I am so happy to be in Chicago for residency at UIC, where I can develop my interest in urban medicine, love of reproductive health, and learn how to be a full spectrum family med doc. When not working, you can usually find me in the kitchen cooking, reading, or travelling!
