Biographical Info

Dr. Bernstein is an Adolescent Medicine clinician and teacher with special interests in Adolescent Weight Management (including obesity and eating disorders), Adolescent Reproductive Health and Adolescent Primary Care. She has dedicated clinics at UIC in these areas. She completed her Pediatrics Residency at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee Wisconsin, and her Adolescent Medicine Fellowship at The Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. She also completed an MPH at George Washington University. Dr. Bernstein’s research interests include teen depression/mental health, adolescent risk-taking behaviors, spirituality among teens, and health resource utilization. She is also very involved in and passionate about medical education.
