Biographical Info

Dr. Hughes is well-known in national and international circles as a world leader in epilepsy, especially in relation to electroencephalography. For over 30 years, he had served as the director of the epilepsy clinic (the largest and oldest in the U.S.) as well as the director of clinical neurophysiology. Some more of his notable accomplishments have included being the author of eight books (including one written in five languages and that being the most popular book in the EEG world) and 545+ peer-reviewed articles. Lastly, he has written a popular book on the relationship of the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and mobster Sam Gianicana.
Dr. Hughes received his undergraduate degree at Franklin & Marshall College summa cum laude and then went onto attend Oxford University, receiving both his BA (honors) and MA degrees. He received his PhD from Harvard University and MD from Northwestern University.
