I grew up in the ‘burbs of NJ—a land of malls, diners and terrible road signage. After high school, I went to Oberlin College & Conservatory, finishing degrees in music performance (cello) and Jewish studies. Shortly after graduation, I started culinary school in Vancouver, Canada, earned a diploma in baking and pastry arts and soon after began working as a pastry chef at an inn in rural Maine. Over the next year, I discovered my interest in medicine while working as a respite caregiver for a family with an autistic teenager and enrolled in a post-bacc program at Rutgers, eventually coming to Chicago for medical school. I’m super excited to be at UIC FMR because of the program’s commitment to caring for the underserved and excellent exposure to the full spectrum of family medicine, including women’s health! My clinical interests include women’s health, geriatrics and care for underserved populations. In my free time I enjoy reading Yiddish literature, studying Russian, playing music, cycling, grain-free baking, cooking and exploring Chicago.
