I was born and raised in New England (rooting for the Bruins, Pats, and Sox). I studied Neuroscience and Behavior at Vassar College and moved to Brooklyn, NY upon graduation for a job in digital marketing. Before I knew it I was in love with city life, and realized I would be a city-dweller forever. I saw how my neighbors in Bed-Stuy lacked access to care despite being in a city of nine million—I wanted to be the doctor that could do everything for them. I took a few extra classes at Harvard while waiting tables and soon enrolled at Tulane’s School of Medicine in New Orleans. There I married my beautiful wife Kate and raised my son Arlo in the Treme. I worked with a small team to establish the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine; a group dedicatedto improving the health of our patients by teaching them how to cook in a healthy way. I have also volunteered at a number of local free clinics and have given my time to teaching underclassmen how to be a good doctor.
I am interested in being a well-rounded physician, capable of saving my patients time, effort, and money on their way to good health by being able to carry out procedures in office. I am interested in reproductive health and want to continue to care for LGBTQ patients as a trusted physician and mentor. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents as they challenge me to fully understand the entire spectrum of medicine; from pediatrics to adult medicine to obstetrics and back again. I feel that everyone should have easy access to quality health care, and UIC FMR makes that their priority. I look forward to learning about the city of Chicago from all of my patients, remember tell me the best places to eat when I see you in clinic!
