I grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and have stayed local ever since! I attended Northwestern University for both undergrad and medical school through Northwestern’s Honors Program in Medical Education.

In college, I worked at an afterschool reading program through the local YMCA, and my work there convinced me to pursue an MPH as well during medical school. My experiences in public health greatly shaped my clinical interests and are actually what led me to family medicine! In addition to being interested in women’s health and family planning, I developed a passion for correctional medicine.

I volunteered as a health educator at Cook County Jail during my first two years of med school, and then spent a clinical month rotating there during my 4th year. I hope I might return to the jail in my future career, as well as possibly one of Chicago’s FQHC’s, so UIC seemed like the perfect place to facilitate those interests.

In my free time, I love to cook (and eat), keep up on current events, and hang out with my family and boyfriend Erick.
