Residency Program

The Department of Dermatology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine offers a comprehensive Residency Program designed to equip residents with the knowledge and skills necessary for excellence in dermatologic care. Through a structured curriculum and hands-on clinical experiences, residents engage in diverse learning opportunities, fostering their expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions.

Application Process Heading link

All applications should be submitted to ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) U.S. or foreign medical school graduates will be considered. We only offer “Advanced” training positions (PGY-II to PGY-IV).

The following documents should be submitted with the ERAS Common Application form:

  • Minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation
  • MSPE/Dean’s letter
  • Personal statement
  • Transcript
  • USMLE scores, Step 1 and Step 2
  • Photograph (if selected to interview)

Dates to know: 

Application Deadline: September 23rd, 2024

Open House: September 4th, 2024

If you are selected for an interview, you will receive communication from the Program some time in October.

  • Applicants are ranked and accepted through the NRMP (National Resident Matching Program).
  • Applications are to be submitted to ERAS by September 23rd, 2024
  • There are only 4 Residency slots being offered.
