Dr. Sana Salih is double board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. Additionally, she is certified as a High Complexity Laboratory Director.
Dr. Salih offers compassionate and proficient care to patients with infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. Dr. Salih assists individuals and couples achieve their family-building dreams in a compassionate and personalized manner. Her expertise in infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss promotes comprehensive evaluation and management, including advanced reproductive technology such as in-vitro fertilization, fertility preservation, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis.
Dr. Salih is a collaborator in an NIH-funded project to study the genetic basis for miscarriage.
Dr. Salih participates in the University of Illinois Fertility Preservation Program, which provides oocyte, sperm, embryo, and testicular tissue cryopreservation. Patients receiving gonadotoxic chemotherapy for cancer and non-cancer indications, in the military service, and those at risk for a genetic disease may benefit from this Program.
Dr. Salih treats patients with endometriosis, fibroids, uterine anomalies, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She offers minimally invasive robotic surgery, when indicated.
Dr. Salih was the recipient of an NIH-sponsored research training grant in Human Molecular Genetics at Yale University, and was a BIRCWH (Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health Research) Scholar at University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Salih’s research is focused on enhancing fertility and fertility preservation. She has collaborated on projects which studied factors, such as genetic, environmental, chemo- and radiation therapies, age-related, and endometriosis, which interfere with follicle maturation, may lead to poor reproductive health outcomes.
Dr. Salih is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Reproductive Sciences.
Dr. Salih is fluent in English and Arabic.
